EPICT – Online Safety Qualification for Teachers 01/05/2019 9:00 am to 01/05/2019 12:15 pm

Course overview

Nearly 60 Warwickshire teachers have been awarded the EPICT Online Safety Qualification since we started to offer this course. Ofsted highlighted the importance of at least one member of staff having a higher level of up-to-date Online Safety knowledge. The EPICT Online Safety certificate (worth 2.5 points at Level 8 endorsed by the British Institute for Learning and Development) gives you the opportunity to increase your knowledge of safeguarding children online whilst affording practical opportunities to apply this awareness within your school.

The course will be delivered through a half day face to face training session, followed by a mid term meeting, assessment and finally moderation by EPICT

Learning outcomes

  • Develop up to date online safety awareness
  • Deliver online safety messages within school as part of an assignment Awareness of how to balance benefits and risk online
  • Understand how online safety tools, systems and new methods of working can help protect pupils when online and/or when using mobile technologies
